I am a native Texan currently living in Zürich, Switzerland, where I fell in love with all things wellness as I went on a journey to find a cure for my crippling migraines, many IBS symptoms, extra weight that wouldn’t drop and unhealthy relationship with food. I am fuelled by a passion and a belief that we all deserve to be well and that it is achievable. Since childhood, I have been in and out of doctors’ offices for various medical conditions. When I moved to Zurich, I became hopeful that maybe new doctors would mean a new perspective. After endless physio, chiropractor and other doctors’ appointments I realized it was all the same. I decided to step out on my own journey to discover what other options were out there. After countless hours of research I realized it is about using nutrition to power a balanced, holistic lifestyle. Now I want to spend my time using the knowledge I’ve gained to help other’s discover how good it feels to live balanced, healthy life.
So what qualifies me to walk with you on your journey? I believe it’s wise to make informed decisions, so I want you to be confident in my ability to provide you with the best service/information.
For the last 5 years, I have been digging into the research of how the human body thrives. The science is clear that diet, exercise, even outside factors such as environmental toxins and more all play a role in our overall health. With a hunger to know more I decided to attend the world-renowned Institute if Integrative Nutrition where I graduated with a certification in nutrition and health coaching. I then completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Program by T. Colin Campbell at Ecornell.
I also want to emphasize that a holistic lifestyle is just as much about mental health as it is about physical health. I developed a passion for mental health in 2014 when I was working with at risk teenagers in a boarding school back home in Texas. I was a house mother to 8 teenage girls. After living in house, I became a supervisor of staff, where I worked directly with a counselor. As a disciplinarian, I spoke with many teens and parents about their relationships to one another. In my 3 years there, I quickly picked up on the correlation between the food we eat and mental health.
Since moving to Switzerland to begin a life with my husband in his native country, I’ve continued changing my own life and habits and have seen firsthand that life can be so much better when you prioritize you physical and mental health. If you neglect one, the other will suffer.
